About Us

Princess Marie Louise

Founded in 1913, 4th Streatham Sea Scouts have been helping young people discover adventure, build friendships and grow in confidence for more than a century. Based in Streatham, South London, we welcome boys and girls aged 6-18 across our Beaver, Cub, Scout and Explorer sections.

As Sea Scouts, our members learn practical outdoor and water-based skills — from camping and navigation to rowing and kayaking. It’s all about teamwork, challenge and fun, giving every young person the chance to experience adventure both on and off the water.

With over 150 young people currently enrolled, we’re one of the largest and most active Scout Groups in the area. We’re proud of our record in helping young people build confidence, teamwork and a genuine can-do attitude — growing into the leaders of tomorrow, ready for life beyond the screen, and discovering friendship, adventure and a real sense of purpose along the way.

Joining Us

We run an active programme across all our sections, with meetings throughout term time, all year round. Our regular meetings take place at our hall in Riggindale Road, Streatham, with our summer programme moving to our boathouse in Putney.

We often run at capacity, but places do become available throughout the year. If you think your child might be interested in joining, please get in touch with us in the first instance. We can let you know whether there is currently a waiting list for their section, how long it is likely to be, and when we expect to be able to welcome new members. We start new members several times a year, so it's always worth getting in touch.

Volunteer

The 4th Streatham is run entirely by volunteers. From running weekly meetings and organising activities to helping with camps, events and fundraising, there are lots of ways to get involved.

You don't need to be a Scout leader or have any previous experience. Whether you can help regularly or occasionally, every bit of support makes a difference.
